The right lane of southbound I-71 will be closed from 8:00 p.m. on Monday, May 14th until 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 15th to complete paving of the outside shoulder. The entrance ramp from Zorn Avenue to southbound I-71 will also be closed during this time for paving.


Northbound Interstate 71: Roadway will be reduced to one lane between downtown and I-264 (mile points 0.0 and
5.5) due to bridge repairs. Lane closures are scheduled from 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 9th through 6:00
a.m. on Saturday, May 26th. In addition, the entrance ramp from Zorn Avenue to northbound I-71 will be
closed from 8 p.m. on Wednesday May 9, until 6 a.m. on Tuesday, May 15. The speed limit in the work zone is
reduced to 45 MPH. Tractor-trailers and loads wider than 11 feet will not be permitted through this work zone. A
signed detour will be in place via eastbound I-64 and eastbound I-264 (Watterson Expressway).

Between I-64 and Shelbyville Road. http://www.trimarc.org/perl/IncConsRpt.pl The Department of Highways District 5 Office advises motorists to be aware of construction at the interchange of Interstate 265 (Gene Snyder Freeway) and US 60 (Shelbyville Road). In addition, asphalt resurfacing will occur on I-265 between Interstate 64 and US 60 (mile points 25.4 and 26.7).
The roadway may be reduced to one lane weeknights Monday through Thursday from 8:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m. the following morning. On weekends, lane/ramp closures are possible from 8:00 p.m. on Friday until 5:00 a.m. on Monday.
The speed limit in the work zone will be reduced to 55 MPH. .
Motorists should use caution in this and all construction zones for their own safety and that of the workers.

Between Bardstown Road and Newburg Road. http://www.trimarc.org/perl/IncConsRpt.pl The Department of Highways District 5 Office advises motorists to be aware of impending construction along westbound Interstate 264 (Watterson Expressway) just west of the Bardstown Road interchange (mile point 15.6). Work is scheduled to begin the week of March 5th to construct a sound barrier on the north side of I-264.

The sound barrier will extend from the entrance ramp at Bardstown Road to the exit ramp at Newburg Road. The right lane of westbound I-264 may be closed during construction weeknights from 9:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. the following morning and on weekends from 9:00 p.m. on Friday until 6:00 a.m. on Monday.
