Travelers will experience a reduced speed limit to 55 mph, and delays, on I-64 between mile 18.8 and 23.9 weekdays Monday through Thursday from 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. the following morning. Except on weekends, when no lane closures will be allowed. Additional lane closures are possible weekdays between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. to allow for asphalt pavement repairs. This project is expected to last until the fall of 2010.

Travelers on Westbound I-264 will experience delays at the ramp to Westbound I-64 as the connecting ramp is re-constructed this year. The project will have shoulder closures to start with this week, and will have further restrictions yet to be announced as the project proceeds. Construction of the new Westport Road Interchange to the Watterson Expressway (I-264) is ongoing and will last until the spring of 2010. Speed limit is reduced to 45 mph in this area for safety of the workers and motoring public.

Construction is underway on I-64 in both directions between the Jefferson County line and the Simpsonville exit in Shelby County (mile points 23.2 and 28.1). Work begins today, November 9th, to widen I-64 to three lanes in each direction. The new lanes will be constructed in the interstate median.

Two lanes of traffic will be maintained in each direction on I-64 during the majority of the construction. Lane closures will be necessary during the mobilization and demobilizatiion of the project and will occur during the overnight hours.

Lane closures are possible in both directions weekdays from 7:00 p.m. each evening until 6:00 a.m. the following morning. The speed limit in the work zone will be reduced to 55 MPH for the duration of the project.

Construction is underway to rebuild the interchange at mile 118 on I-64 in Indiana. This is the intersection of SR 64 and SR 62 near Georgetown, Indiana. Significant delays to motorists are expected during construction which is expected to be completed by April, 2010.
